History
Thallita is a project of the Esperança e Vida Association that was born inspired by the attitude of Jesus, according to the biblical passage in Mark 5,41 (Girl Stand Up: "Thallita Cumi"), which aims to develop socio-educational and cultural actions through training activities, income generation and work and psycho-social support. Aiming to promote the guarantee of rights and mediation in access to public assistance policies, contributing to the construction of a more just and egalitarian society.
The Thallita Project over 15 years developed activities to promote human dignity together with girls who were on the streets, and/or in situations of violence and sexual exploitation. These activities took place at the Thallita headquarters, which functioned as a shelter, and had a street team that accompanied the girls, with the aim of reintegrating social and family life.
Currently, the Association provides a Service of Coexistence and Strengthening of Bonds for the community where it is inserted, expanding its actions for the care and integral follow-up of children, adolescents and women, thus composing a device strategy in the assistance network of the city of Maceió.
